NASHVILLE, TN (The Spread) – Notre Dame has had issues covering the spread of late and we don’t think the Irish will buck the trend today when they face LSU at 3:00PM ET in the Music City Bowl.

According to oddsmamkers from online sports book BetDSI, the Tigers are 7.5-point home favorites over the Fighting Irish while the over/under total for today’s game is currently sitting at 52.5 points.
Notre Dame has been a brutal bet of late, especially in bowl games. The Irish are just 2-6 against the spread in their last eight bowl games and are 0-5 against the number in their last five games overall. They’re struggled to cover the spread coming off losses as well, going 0-5 ATS in their last five games following a loss and 0-4 ATS in their last four games following an ATS loss.
On the other side the Tigers are a perfect 4-0 against the spread in their last four non-conference games and are 4-1 ATS in their last five games versus a team with a winning record. They’ve also been a good bet in December, going 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine games in December.
