COLLEGE FOOTBALL FREE PICK: Stanford is 9-3 ATS L12 vs. non-conf. foes. Last year, Stanford crushed Duke on the road, 44-14, giving 20.5. Duke hasn’t won two straight games to start a season since 1998. They defeated Florida International last week, 46-26, despite being outgained 513-420, including 165-119 on the ground. That’s not a good sign against Stanford, who will use their ground game more this season, led by Stepfan Taylor, who had 116 yards last week. Stanford struggled some last week against San Jose State, winning by just three, 20-17. QB Josh Nunes shook off the cobwebs with 125 yards with one TD and no picks. He’s no Andrew Luck but he will open it up this week against a poor Duke defense as Stanford takes this one with ease.
