CFB Week 5 Line Movement

Every week the opening point spread odds tend to change and in Week 5 some have changed more than others. Here is a look at the changes in the top 25 contests.

Bet College Football Week 5 Odds

The big game of Alabama-Florida has seen a slight decrease in the points spread. According to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com Alabama opened as a 9-point favorite at home. The odds got as low as 7.5 but are now at 8 for the home team.

In another game between ranked teams, the spread started as even for Michigan State vs. Wisconsin, but the Badgers have since become a 2-point favorite on the road against the Spartans.

2010 College Football Week 5 Line Movements (For Top 25 Games Only)

No. 16 Miami vs. Clemson – Noon ET

The opening odds had Miami as a 3-point favorite and that line grew up to 4 points before settling back at 3.5. The over/under has not had any changes since opening at 51.

No 2 Ohio State vs. IllinoisNoon ET

The opening odds had the Buckeyes favored by 19 points but the line has slowly dropped down to 17 points. The over/under opened at 50.5 but has since moved up to 51.

Louisiana-Monroe vs. No. 10 Auburn – Noon ET

The week started with Auburn as 34.5-point favorites and got as high as 35.5 points before settling in at an even 35. The over/under started where it currently is, at 53 points.

No. 5 TCU vs. Colorado State – 2PM ET

The Horned Frogs started as 33.5-point favorites as they are now, but the line did dip down to 33 at one points. The over/under has not changed since opening at 54.

Virginia Tech vs. No. 23 N.C. State – 3:30PM ET

The opening odds had Virginia Tech as 3.5-point road favorites and the odds dropped down to 3 before moving back to 3.5. The over/under opened at 54.5 before settling in at 53.

No. 11 Wisconsin vs. No. 24 Michigan State – 3:30PM ET

The line opened as even but has slowly climbed to -2 for Wisconsin. The over/under began at 53.5 but dropped slightly down to 53.

No. 19 Michigan vs. Indiana – 3:30PM ET

The opening point spread odds for this game was Michigan -11.5 but that line has slowly worked its way down to 10 points. The over/under started at 66 but is now down to 65.

No. 21 Texas vs. No. 8 Oklahoma

The opening odds had Oklahoma favored by 4 points against Texas. The line hasn’t changed much since settling in at -3.5. The over/under opened at 45.5. and has dropped down to 44.5.

Tennessee at vs. 12 LSU – 3:30PM ET

The line opened with LSU as a 14-point favorite, but the spread has grown consistently throughout the week, now settling at 16.5 points. While the spread has grown, the over/under has not changed since opening at 42.5.

No. 3 Boise State vs. New Mexico State – 8PM ET

The opening point spread was Boise State -40, but the number has just continued to grow, now up to 43.5. The over/under started at 60, but has added the crucial ½ a point.

Washington at vs. 18 USC – 8PM ET

The opening odds had USC favored by 10.5 points and the spread got up to as much as 11.5 points but has since fallen back to 10. The over/under started at 61 and was as high as 61.5 but is now at 60.5.

No. 9 Stanford vs. No. 4 Oregon – 8PM ET

Oregon opened this game as a 7-point favorite and the line has gone back-and-forth from 6.5 to 7 points but is currently at 7. The over/under started at 65.5 and was as high as 66.5 before settling in at 66.

No. 7 Florida vs. No. 1 Alabama – 8PM ET

Alabama opened as 9-point favorites for this game. The spread climbed up to 10 points at one point and was as low as 7.5 before settling in at 8. The over/under hasn’t changed since opening at 48.

No. 22 Penn State vs. No. 17 Iowa – 8:05PM ET

The opening odds had Iowa as a 7.5-point favorite. The spread got as high as 8 points but has now backed down to 7 points. The over/under started at 41.5, but has since dropped down to 40.5.

No. 25 Nevada vs. UNLV – 10 PM ET

The opening line had Nevada as a 19.5-point favorite against UNLV. The line got as high as 21 points before settling in at 20.5. The over/under started at 62 and was as low as 61.5 points, but is now at 62.5 points.
