College Football Week 5 Injury Report

Any team needs to be at 100 percent when taking on Alabama, and Florida has some key players injured in Week 5. Here is a look at the major injuries for Saturday’s games.

Florida receiver Jeffrey Demps is dealing with an injured foot that has caused him some problems as of late, but Demps is expected to play when the Gators take on No. 1 Alabama. According to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL, Florida is an 8-point underdog for the game and certainly the Gators will need to be at their best to get the cover, let alone the win.

2010 College Football Week 5 Injury Report (Top 25 Games Only)

No. 16 Miami at Clemson – Noon ET

The Hurricanes have a couple of question marks for the game as linebacker Kevin Nelson has an upper body injury and running back Graig Cooper has a knee injury. Clemson has some concerns with the offensive line as four members of the line are either out or questionable, including tackles Phillip Price and Kalon Davis.

No 2 Ohio State vs. IllinoisNoon ET

Ohio State has some injury issues on defense, especially in the secondary as Donnie Evege and Travis Howard are each questionable to play while linebacker Dorian Bell is questionable with a shoulder injury. Illinois linebacker Nate Palmer is questionable for the game with a toe injury.

Louisiana-Monroe vs. No. 10 Auburn – Noon ET

Auburn is pretty healthy but could be without little used receivers Trovon Reed and Ladarious Phillips. Both are questionable for the game. The Warhawks have no major injuries to report for the game.

No. 5 TCU vs. Colorado State – 2PM ET

The only listed player on the injury report for TCU is safety Tyler Luttrell, who is listed as questionable with a hamstring injury. For the Rams, defensive end Eugene Daniels is listed as questionable for the game with a shoulder injury.

Virginia Tech vs. No. 23 N.C. State – 3:30PM ET

Virginia Tech is expected to go without stud running back Ryan Williams, who has a hamstring injury that has forced him to miss one game already this year. N.C. State is primarily healthy with no major injuries heading into the game.

No. 11 Wisconsin vs. No. 24 Michigan State – 3:30PM ET

Wisconsin’s top receiver Nick Toon is dealing with a toe injury, but he was upgraded to probable late in the week. Michigan State doesn’t have any major player injuries, but obviously the return of Coach Dantonio is a big boost for the team.

No. 19 Michigan vs. Indiana – 3:30PM ET

Indiana is expected to be without defensive back Chris Adkins, who has an ankle injury while kicker Nick Freeland is expected to miss the game with a hip injury. For the Wolverines, Robinson is expected to play after injuring his knee last week against Bowling Green. Tate Forcier is also expected to be available at quarterback after injuring his knee.

No. 21 Texas vs. No. 8 Oklahoma

Oklahoma has some injuries on the defense as linebacker Austin Box will miss 3-to-6 weeks with a back injury while defensive tackle Casey Walker is out indefinitely with a knee injury. Texas running back Tre’ Newton is expected to play on Saturday despite a hip injury while receiver Mike Davis is questionable with a knee injury.

Tennessee vs. No. 12 LSU – 3:30PM ET

Virginia Tech is expected to go without stud running back Ryan Williams, who has a hamstring injury that has forced him to miss one game already this year. N.C. State is primarily healthy with no major injuries heading into the game.

No. 3 Boise State vs. New Mexico State – 8PM ET

Boise State has a couple of players serving suspensions, but safety Jason Robinson will return this week while Winston Venable will miss the first half of the game. The Aggies have no new injuries but have three players that are out for the season due to injury.

Washington vs. No. 18 USC – 8PM ET

The Trojans are a number of players on the injured list but among those that may not play are linebacker Simione Vehikite and defensive tackle Wes Horton. Washington doesn’t have any major injuries reported for the game.

No. 9 Stanford vs. No. 4 Oregon – 8PM ET

Oregon has one questionable player for the game as offensive lineman Everett Benyard is dealing with an ankle injury that could sideline him on Saturday. Stanford defensive lineman Trent Murphy is questionable for the game with a leg injury while running back Tyler Gaffney is probable for the game despite having an undisclosed injury.

No. 7 Florida vs. No. 1 Alabama – 8PM ET

The lone injury listed for Alabama is defensive end Marcell Dareus, who is listed as probable with an ankle injury. Demps has an injured foot, but he is probable for the game for the Gators while wide receiver Chris Rainey is still serving his suspension.

No. 22 Penn State vs. No. 17 Iowa – 8:05PM ET

Iowa is without a lot of depth at running back as Jewel Hampton and Brandon Weghar. Both are out indefinitely for the Hawkeyes. For Penn State doesn’t have any new injuries as receiver Curtis Drake is out for another 6-to-8 weeks with a leg injury.

No. 25 Nevada vs. UNLV – 10 PM ET

Nevada has safety Corbin Louks expected to play with a knee injury while running back Mike Ball will miss the game because of a suspension. The Rebels have a lot of injuries, as 16 different players are expected to miss the game because of injury or personal reasons.
