Bradford Not Back
Sam Bradford will miss another game for No. 8 Oklahoma on Saturday when it travels to No. 17 Miami to face the Hurricanes at 8PM ET from Landshark Stadium.
Bradford has not played since the first half of the Sooners’ 14-13 loss to BYU in the season opener back on Sept. 5. The defending Heisman Trophy winner threw for 96 yards and a touchdown on 10-of-14 passing before leaving the game with a shoulder sprain that has caused him to miss the Sooners’ last two victories. Oklahoma has defeated Idaho State and Tulsa by a combined 109-0 over the last few weeks, but now faces a Miami team that is looking to bounce back after an embarrassing loss. The Sooners will need to continue to run the ball with DeMarco Murray and Chris Brown who both have nearly 200 yards on the ground each. Ryan Broyles has caught 22 passes for 309 yards and seven touchdowns thus far, and the Oklahoma defense is leading the Big XII in points and yards allowed per-game, while allowing just 122 rushing yards in three games.
Miami is facing its fourth-straight ranked opponent in as many games on Saturday. Miami opened the year with wins over Florida State and Georgia Tech, but was beaten down by Virginia Tech, 31-7, last week. Miami allowed Virginia Tech to rush for 272 yards while the Hurricanes themselves had just 209 yards of total offense. Jacory Harris, who had been terrific for Miami prior to last week, was limited to 150 yards on 9-of-25 passing with one interception. Harris has thrown for 806 yards and five touchdowns on the season. Miami ranks second to last in the ACC in rushing yards as a team while defensively, the Hurricanes are third in the conference in passing yards allowed.
