Boise State Broncos Game Notes

Boise State sophomore RB George Holani (knee) is expected to play against San Jose State this Saturday. Holani (5'11/206) who was already wearing a brace on his left knee, came up holding his leg after a rushing attempt during the third quarter versus Wyoming on Saturday. And while the sophomore was cleared to play, he was a question mark during the week and did not look to be completely healthy while on the field pre-injury. The Bronco tailback recorded just three carries for three yards, while catching four passes for 19 yards and a touchdown in the contest. Andrew Van Buren will likely handle the majority of reps in the Mountain West Championship this Saturday against San Jose State.

San Jose State Spartans Game Notes

San Jose State senior QB Nick Starkel completed 20-of-30 passes for 306 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception in Friday's 30-20 win over Nevada. Thanks to Starkel, San Jose State were able to finish the year undefeated. Granted, claiming undefeated in a shortened season is a bit of a cheat code, but a 6-0 run is impressive regardless of the season. On Friday, Starkel led a passing effort that cleared 10 yards per attempt, constantly finding chunk yardage against the Nevada defense. He did have the one pick, but considering all of what else he did, the lone mistake was perfectly fine. SJSU finish the year 6-0 with a potential bowl game now in the mix.
