Demon Deacons end five-game skid
A go-ahead 3-pointer by Chaundee Brown with 35.1 seconds remaining in overtime eight days ago sent Wake Forest to a 78-76 home victory over Pittsburgh. The Demon Deacons (9-13, 2-8 ACC) outscored the Panthers 41-39 in the second half and 11-9 in OT to post the win. Jaylen Hoard led Wake Forest with 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting plus 5-of-6 at the free throw line. He also accounted for 17 rebounds, four assists and three blocked shots. Brown tallied 18 points, four boards and four assists. Brandon Childress registered 18 points, six assists, four rebounds and two steals. Sharone Wright Jr. added 11 points over 25 minutes. The Demon Deacons shot 27-of-64 from the floor, 9-of-24 on 3-point attempts and 15-of-20 at the free throw line.
Seminoles claim fifth straight win
Florida State earned a fifth straight victory Saturday as it topped visiting Louisville by a count of 80-75 in overtime. The Seminoles (18-5, 6-4) outscored the Cardinals 40-34 in the second half and 15-10 in overtime. Mfiondu Kabengele paced FSU with 22 points off the bench on 7-of-12 shooting including 2-of-6 from 3-point distance plus 6-of-6 at the free throw line. He also notched seven rebounds and two steals. Terance Mann contributed 20 points and four rebounds. Trent Forrest had 15 points, six boards, five steals and four assists. M.J. Walker added 11 points over 33 minutes. Florida State shot 23-of-61 from the floor, 7-of-23 from 3-point range plus 27-of-36 at the free throw line.

Both teams are coming off grueling overtime wins, but the Demon Deacons have had plenty of time to rest and scout. I’m not saying this will stay all that close, but 18.5 is a big number to work with and the Seminoles have been known this season for letting some teams hang around.
