ESPN Game Preview:
Oklahoma faces No. 13 Texas A&M in SEC action Tuesday.
The Aggies have gone 9-1 in home games. Texas A&M ranks fourth in the SEC at limiting opponent scoring, giving up 65.8 points while holding opponents to 39.2% shooting.
The Sooners are 2-4 in SEC play. Oklahoma averages 79.9 points and has outscored opponents by 9.5 points per game.
Texas A&M’s average of 7.1 made 3-pointers per game this season is just 0.2 more made shots on average than the 6.9 per game Oklahoma gives up. Oklahoma has shot at a 48.3% rate from the field this season, 9.1 percentage points greater than the 39.2% shooting opponents of Texas A&M have averaged.
Oklahoma vs. Texas A&M CBB Prediction:
I don’t understand this line. These two teams just met in Norman on January 8 and the Sooners were 2.5-point home favorites. A&M won that game outright 80-78, but now the Aggies are 8.5-point favorites. Where are oddsmakers getting this line? Is homecourt advantage worth that much more in College Station than in Norman? My guess is that this is an overreaction from the Aggies’ win at Oklahoma. I’m taking the points.
Oklahoma vs. Texas A&M Hoops Prediction: OKLAHOMA SOONERS +8.5
