Terrapins stymied at U-M
Maryland struggled Saturday afternoon in a 65-52 defeat at Michigan to drop to 19-7 overall and 10-5 in conference action. The Terrapins trailed 27-18 at halftime and were unable to bounce back. Maryland shot 20-of-55 from the field, 6-of-22 from 3-point range and 6-of-8 at the free throw line. Aaron Wiggins paced the Terrapins with 15 points off the bench on 5-of-10 shooting including 3-of-6 from 3-point distance plus 2-of-2 at the free throw line. He also accounted for six rebounds and three assists. Bruno Fernando had 12 points and eight boards. Anthony Cowan Jr. added 10 points, five caroms and three assists.
Wieskamp wins it with miraculous 3-pointer
Iowa earned a thrilling 71-69 victory Saturday at Rutgers as Joe Wieskamp banked in a corner 3-pointer at the buzzer. The Hawkeyes outscored the Scarlet Knights 39-36 in the second half of the win. Iowa shot 25-of-54 from the floor, 8-of-21 from 3-point range and 13-of-18 from the charity stripe. Jordan Bohannon led the Hawkeyes with 18 points on 5-of-11 shooting including 3-of-7 from 3-point range plus 5-of-7 at the free throw line. He also tallied five assists, two boards and two steals. College Basketball Betting Trends
Maryland
The Terrapins are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games. Maryland is 3-0-1 ATS in its last four Tuesday games.
Iowa
The favorite is 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings. The over is 21-10-1 in the last 32 Hawkeyes games versus the Big Ten.
Prediction:
The Hawkeyes have won four in a row, but the last three have come against subpar opponents. Maryland was hot the couple games before the U-M setback and I think it will get back on the right track here as it has the defensive chops to slow down a very efficient Iowa offense. Take the points here.
