Cyclones dominate Jayhawks
Iowa State crushed previously fifth-ranked Kansas Saturday at home by a count of 77-60. The Cyclones (12-2, 2-0) outscored the Jayhawks 41-28 in the second half to pull away. The Cyclones shot 28-of-61 from the floor, 13-of-25 from 3-point distance and 8-of-10 at the free throw line to post the win. Marial Shayok paced ISU with 24 points on 9-of-12 shooting including a perfect 5-of-5 on 3-point attempts plus 1-of-2 at the free throw line. He also had five rebounds and two steals. Tyrese Haliburton tallied 14 points, four steals and three dimes. Nick Weiler-Babb added 12 points, four assists, four steals and three rebounds.
Bears’ rally falls short at TCU
Baylor outscored host Texas Christian 53-45 in the second half Saturday, but it wasn’t enough in an 85-81 defeat. The Bears (8-5, 0-1 Big 12) shot 29-of-59 from the floor, 4-of-16 from 3-point range and 19-of-27 at the free throw line. Tristan Clark led Baylor with 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting plus 4-of-6 at the free throw line. He also registered six rebounds and four assists. Matthew Mayer had 17 points and two boards off the bench. Makai Mason accounted for 15 points, three caroms and three assists. Mark Vital added 11 points, four rebounds, four assists and four steals.
College Basketball Betting Trends
The Cyclones are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 road games. Iowa State is 4-1 ATS in its last five games overall.
The Bears are 5-0 ATS in their last five games following a straight up loss. Baylor is 4-1 ATS in its last five games overall.
There is always a chance at a letdown, but I think Iowa State has what it takes to play another strong game on the road here. The Cyclones are ranked in the top 20 for both offensive and defensive efficiency, while the Bears are offensively challenged at times. Down the stretch, I think ISU finds more easy baskets than the hosts and thus covers this spread.
