Fighting Illini vs. Terrapins Prediction
The 13th-ranked Maryland Terrapins had their seven-game winning streak snapped earlier this week at the sixth-ranked Michigan State Spartans. Can Maryland find its winning formula again today at home versus the Illinois Fighting Illini?

Illini fall at home to Badgers
Illinois dropped a 72-60 home decision Wednesday night against Wisconsin to fall to 5-14 overall and 1-7 in the Big Ten Conference. The Fighting Illini only trailed by two at halftime before being outscored 40-30 in the second half. Giorgi Bezhanishvili led Illinois with 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting plus 4-of-9 at the free throw line. He also pulled down eight rebounds. Aaron Jordan added 10 points plus seven rebounds and two steals. The Illini shot 22-of-62 from the floor, 4-of-21 from 3-point distance and 12-of-22 at the free throw line.
Terrapins outclassed by MSU
Maryland could not hang with Michigan State Tuesday night en route to a 69-55 loss. The Terrapins (16-4, 7-2) trailed 31-20 at halftime and could not climb back after the break. Maryland shot 21-of-61 from the field, 9-of-26 from 3-point range and 4-of-7 from the free throw line. Aaron Wiggins led the Terrapins with 15 points on 5-of-13 shooting including 5-of-9 on 3-pointers. Bruno Fernando tallied 12 points, 13 rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots. Darryl Morsell added 10 points in 20 minutes.
College Basketball Betting Trends
The Fighting Illini are 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 Saturday games. Illinois is 5-11 ATS in its last 16 games overall.
The Terrapins are 32-15-4 ATS in their last 51 Saturday games. Maryland is 8-3-1 ATS in its last 12 games following a straight up loss.
With this game in a neutral environment and an early start, that hurts Illinois here as it’s the same as an 11AM start time if it were a home game. Maryland might have lost its last contest, but it was to an elite team and now has a chance to continue what was a strong stretch of play for the entirety of this month. I’m going to say Maryland wins by double digits here to start a new winning streak.
