Bluejays dominate Musketeers
Creighton cruised to a 76-54 home victory Sunday over Xavier to improve to 11-12 overall and 3-7 in Big East action. The Bluejays established a 41-26 halftime advantage on its way to the win. Martin Krampelj paced Creighton with 23 points on 8-of-11 shooting plus 7-of-7 at the free throw line. He also notched six rebounds, four steals and two assists. Marcus Zegarowski added 13 points to go with two steals. The Bluejays shot 28-of-48 from the field, 7-of-15 from 3-point distance and 13-of-13 at the free throw line.
Gillespie guides Wildcats to win
Villanova secured a 77-65 home win Sunday afternoon over Georgetown to move to 18-4 overall and 9-0 in conference play. The Wildcats outscored the Hoyas 44-31 in the second half after trailing by a point at halftime. Villanova shot 24-of-51 from the field, 9-of-31 from 3-point range and 20-of-31 from the charity stripe. Collin Gillespie led Villanova with a career-best 30 points on 7-of-13 shooting including 6-of-11 from 3-point range plus 10-of-12 at the free throw line. He also recorded five rebounds and four assists. Eric Paschall tallied 24 points plus six boards and two steals. Phil Booth added 14 points, two caroms and two dimes.
College Basketball Betting Trends
The Bluejays are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 road games. Creighton is 6-13 ATS in its last 19 Big East games.
The Wildcats are 6-0 ATS in their last six Big East games. Villanova is 21-7 ATS in its last 28 home games.
The Wildcats have cruised through Big East play, but also haven’t played the toughest of schedules. They already have a 90-78 victory at Creighton this season, but the Bluejays are playing better basketball now with wins in three of their last four contests. I think there is a good chance Villanova doesn’t play up to its standard against a team it has already beaten by double digits. Expect Creighton to keep it close here.
