This 10 team tournament begins play on Wednesday and will continue through Saturday. The bottom four seeds will compete on Wednesday while the top six seeds all have a bye into the quarterfinals. This tournament will take place from the Sprint Center in Kansas City.
According to oddsmakers, Kansas is the overwhelming favorite to win this event, as they have been given 5/6 odds to win. Other short odds to win are Missouri (7/4) and Baylor (7/1).
Kansas is 26-5 on the season and 16-2 in the Big 12. The Jayhawks own the top seed in this tournament. Kansas has won this tournament eight times, far more than anyone else in the conference. The Jayhawks are 30-7 in tournament history.
Missouri went 27-4 overall this season and 14-4 in the Big 12 to earn the No. 2 seed in this tournament. The Tigers have won this tournament just one time and have a 16-14 overall record in this tournament.
Baylor was 25-6 this season and 12-6 in the Big 12. The Bears earned the No. 4 seed in the Big 12 Tournament. Baylor has never won the Big 12 Tournament and they are just 9-14 overall in the tournament’s history.
