Mountain West Tourny Odds
LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – Some of the leading dark horse candidates for the NCAA Tournament will square off in the 2011 Mountain West Conference Tournament, starting on Wednesday.

The Mountain West Tournament is a 9-team tournament with one opening round game featuring the eighth and ninth seeds. The winner makes it into the 8-team tournament which runs Thursday-Saturday. The tournament takes place from the Thomas & Mack Center.
San Diego State and UNLV are the favorites to win the tournament according to oddsmakers from online sportsbook Sportsbook.com as they each have 6/5 odds to win. BYU is the other team with short odds to win, as it has 3/2 odds.
San Diego State is the No. 2 seed for the tournament as it went 14-2 in conference play and 29-2 overall. The Aztecs have won this tournament three times, including in 2010
UNLV is the third seed after going 11-5 in conference play and 23-7 overall. The Rebels have the home court edge for the tournament and have won the MWC Tournament three times. The last win was in 2008.
BYU is the top seed as it tied SDSU at 14-2 in MWC play. The Cougars went 28-3 overall but recently dismissed Brandon Davies, one of the top players on the team, for violating the school’s honor code. BYU has won this tournament just one time, in 2001.
