The Wildcats defeated the Tar Heels 76-69 in the regional championship as Kentucky controlled most of the game, hitting 12 3-pointers in the contest while holding UNC to just 3 3-pointers.
According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook Bodog.com Kentucky had 15/4 odds to win the East Region, meaning a $100 wager on the Wildcats will pay out an additional $375.
Kentucky was the No. 4 seed in the region to enter the tournament and the Wildcats defeated Princeton 59-57 on a last-second shot to open their tournament and then followed that with a 71-63 win over West Virginia.
In the Sweet Sixteen, another late score allowed Kentucky to defeated top seed, Ohio State 62-60. That win propelled the Wildcats into a game with UNC, which it won on Sunday.
