Are the Phoenix Suns going to make it a competitive game at the Philadelphia 76ers tonight at 7PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the 76ers are a 10.5-point favorite on the spread line. The over-under is set at 228 points.
The Suns enter at 8-16 overall and 10-13-1 ATS after a 116-111 loss at the Celtics. Philadelphia is 13-9 straight up and 15-7 ATS following a 108-103 home win against the Pistons. The two meetings were split 1-1 straight up and 1-1 ATS in two meetings last season. The over went 2-0.
Phoenix was paced by Devin Booker with 38 points, five assists and four rebounds in the loss at Boston. TJ Warren tallied 19 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Tyson Chandler added 14 points, 18 rebounds and three assists. The Suns trailed 89-79 through three quarters.
Joel Embiid led the Sixers with 25 points and 10 rebounds in the win over Detroit. Robert Covington accounted for 25 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocked shots. JJ Redick added 18 points, seven assists and two rebounds. Philadelphia outscored the Pistons 28-23 in the fourth quarter.
Phoenix is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings. The over is 5-0 in the last five meetings in Philadelphia.
The Suns kept it closer than expected at Boston, but a repeat performance shouldn’t be expected. Embiid is likely to dominate in the interior, while Ben Simmons is healthy from a sprained ankle and contributing in a variety of categories. This seems like a classic blowout situation. Unless Booker can get red-hot again, the Suns will be severely overmatched here.
