Sources told ESPN.com that Jordan and the Mavericks have agreed to a four-year maximum contract worth more than $80 million. The deal also reportedly includes a player option after the third season to allow Jordan to hit the free agent market again in July of 2018. Just yesterday Dallas received a verbal commitment from free agent Wesley Matthews, who reportedly wanted to play with Jordan.

Jordan finished first in the league in rebounds (15.0 per game) and field goal percentage (.710) while becoming the first player to do so in back-to-back seasons since Wilt Chamberlain accomplished the feat in 1971-72 and 1972-73. Jordan is a good bet to lead the league in rebounds again next season.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book GT Bets, the Mavericks are 30/1 to win the 2016 NBA Finals after being 40/1 following the signing of Matthews.
