The Heat are the favorites to win the East according to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com as they have 6/5 odds to win the conference. Other short odds to win are Chicago (7/5), Boston (3/1), and Atlanta (10/1).

The Heat are the No. 2 seed in the East. Miami defeated Philadelphia in the opening round 4-1. The Heat won three of their four games by single digits and had a minimum of 94 points in all their victories. They will now face the Celtics in the second round.

The Bulls are the top seed in the East and they defeated Indiana in the opening round in five games. Chicago won their first three games in the series by six points or less and then finished the Pacers off by 27 in Game 5. Chicago will now take on Atlanta in the second round.

Boston is the No. 3 seed and they were the lone team to sweep their series, as they defeated New York in the opening round. Boston actually had an easier time winning on the road than they did at home as they won by at least 12 points in both road wins and by a combined five points in the two games at home.

Atlanta is the No. 5 seed in the East and the Hawks were the lone team to pull off an upset in the first round, as they beat Orlando in six games. The Hawks took a 3-1 lead in the series and that was too much for Orlando to overcome. The Hawks had all four of their wins come by 10 points or less, with three decided by four points or less.
