Jeff Gordon Season Win Total Odds
(TheSpread) – Jeff Gordon is one of the all-time great drivers in NASCAR Sprint Cup history, but can the veteran end his winless streak during the 2011 season?
Oddsmakers at online sportsbook SBGGLOBAL.com have given Gordon over/under odds of 1.5 wins for the 2011 season. He must race in 33 events in order for the wager to be official.
Gordon hasn’t won a race since April 5, 2009, when he won the Samsung 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.
Despite finishing ninth in the 2010 point standings, Gordon went without a single win in the season and had just one pole victory. Despite the poor stats, Gordon still had 11 top 5’s on the year.
Gordon has just one win over the last three seasons, but did have a run of 14-straight years with at least two wins from 1994-2007.
Gordon seems to have past his prime in terms of wins and general success. It has probably been a hard pill for him to swallow as he has now become a clear second-fiddle to Jimmie Johnson at Hendrick Motorsports, a team he made famous in the 90’s. Gordon can go one of two ways with this. He can either come back motivated in 2011 and make a serious run at the title with a handful of wins, or he can continue to decline and perhaps fall out of the chase for the championship and go winless once again.
