Robbie Ray allowed two unearned runs over five innings to get the win. Tim Fedorowicz went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs and two RBIs to pace the Giants. Matt Moore allowed eight runs (seven earned) over 1 1/3 innings to take the loss.
Bet on Giants vs. Diamondbacks
Samardzija is having a much better season than his record or ERA indicates. He is fully capable of shutting down a strong offense such as the D-backs. With Arizona having locked up its NL Wild Card spot, its merely trying to stay healthy and tune up for its postseason tilt that it will host next week. Shipley hasn’t proven he can consistently get out MLB hitters and while the Giants have a weak offense, they have a ballpark upgrade here and the better starting pitcher. We’re taking a shot with the underdog.
