Max Scherzer will make his debut with the Rangers on Thursday afternoon when Texas hosts Touki Toussaint and the White Sox at 2:05 p.m. ET. With the Rangers listed as massive home favorites and the total sitting at 8.5 runs, what’s the smart bet today?

Chicago White Sox DFS SPIN
Liam Hendriks underwent Tommy John surgery on Wednesday. Given the timing of the surgery, there’s a strong possibility Hendriks will be sidelined until the 2025 season. The 34-year-old veteran closer landed on the injured list back in early June with right elbow inflammation just a few weeks after making it back following an offseason battle with Stage 4 non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
Texas Rangers DFS SPIN
Corey Seager went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and three RBI on Wednesday in an 11-1 blowout win over the White Sox. Seager made his return to the lineup on Wednesday and smashed a two-run homer in his first plate appearances off Dylan Cease. He added a third RBI on a base hit in the second inning. With the game out of hand, he was replaced by Josh H. Smith in the sixth inning. The 29-year-old shortstop is slashing an outstanding .352/.414/.640 with 16 homers and 61 RBI across 302 plate appearances.

White Sox vs. Rangers MLB BETTING PREDICTION
Toussaint is 1-3 with a 3.50 ERA on the year and is 1-2 with a 3.34 ERA with Chicago, whom he has made four starts in his eight apperances. In two career outings versus the Rangers, both of which came in relief, he’s 1-0 with a 2.25 ERA. Scherzer, meanwhile, was acquired at the trade deadline from the Mets to help give the Rangers a legitimate chance of a postseason run. He has made 24 career starts against the White Sox, although none since 2016. He’s 9-4 on the season and owns a 4.01 ERA. Given the pitching matchup, I like the under today in Arlington.
MLB BETTING PREDICTION: WHITE SOX/RANGERS UNDER 8.5
