Padres have dropped six of seven

San Diego fell 4-3 at home Sunday afternoon against Arizona, its sixth defeat in the last seven games. Wil Myers was 2-for-3 with a walk and a run to help pace the offense. Eric Hosmer finished 2-for-4 with a run. Hunter Renfroe ended the game 2-for-3 with three RBIs, hitting a 2-run first-inning homer off Zack Greinke that gave the hosts a 2-0 lead at that point. Kirby Yates took the loss in relief as he gave up one earned run on two hits with one strikeout over one inning.

Rockies complete sweep at Braves

Colorado sent first-place Atlanta to four straight losses over the weekend and have now won eight of its last nine games. Trevor Story and D.J. LeMahieu each finished 1-for-4 with a solo home run to help pace the offense. David Dahl went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run. Nolan Arenado went 1-for-4 with an RBI. German Marquez picked up the win as he allowed two earned runs on five hits with five strikeouts and a walk over seven innings. Wade Davis registered his 35th save as he gave up one hit while striking out three in the ninth inning.

Robbie Erlin (2-1, 3.33 ERA) gets the start for the Padres today, while the Rockies counter with Tyler Anderson (6-5, 4.39).

MLB Betting Trends

San Diego

The Padres are 15-40 in their last 55 games overall. The over is 6-2 in the last eight San Diego games following a loss.

Colorado

The under is 7-2 in the last nine Rockies games overall. Colorado is 20-7 in its last 27 home games.

Prediction:

Colorado is playing great baseball right now and now returns home to play at Coors Field, where it has been stellar as of late. Additionally, the dreadful Padres are in town. Anderson is typically sufficient at Coors Field and Erlin has benefited from games in pitcher’s parks. He won’t get that here. Take the Rockies.
