Because the team has no idea what it’s priorities should be, Jones didn’t start the Rockies’ previous two games. The homer today was his eighth in 158 plate appearances since being called up. His .858 OPS leads the club, and he’s pretty clearly the second or third most important position player on the roster as far as the team’s future goes. So, he’ll probably be back on the bench tomorrow.

I’m taking the under. Jesus Luzardo will start today for the Marlins and he’s 8-5 with a 3.34 ERA on the season. The Marlins are 13-7 when he starts and he’s won his past three decisions. He’s also 4-2 with a 2.43 ERA in 11 home starts this season, so he should be dialed in as always. As for the Rockies, they’ll start lefty Ty Blach, although he’ll merely serve as the opener. Bullpen games can be tricky for the opposition, especially one like Miami that has struggled offensively.
