Boston Red Sox DFS SPIN
Chris Sale (shoulder) has begun throwing from a distance of 60 feet. Sale underwent a follow-up MRI on Thursday which apparently showed sufficient healing for him to begin a ramp-up. The plan calls for him to throw every other day in the short-term in order to see how his shoulder/scapula responds. He’s on the 60-day IL and thus isn’t eligible to return in the early part of August. It’s too soon to speculate on a timetable, though.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. clobbered a two-run homer on Thursday, powering the Blue Jays to a 2-1 victory over the Giants. Guerrero Jr. broke up a scoreless stalemate with a sixth-inning shot off rookie right-hander Keaton Winn. It was his third round-tripper in his last six games and he’s now up to 12 big flies on the year. He’ll take his talents to Seattle in a few weeks for the All-Star Home Run Derby and appears to be finding his swing at just the right time.
