Early Game — Seattle Mariners at Detroit Tigers
MARINERS VS TIGERS TIME & HOW TO WATCH | |
|---|---|
| Where | Comerica Park, Detroit, MI |
| When | Saturday, June 6 – 1:10 PM ET |
| TV | MLB Network (out of market), Mariners.TV, Tigers local broadcast |
The pitching matchup tilts toward run prevention. Seattle sends Bryce Miller (1-0, 1.71 ERA), excellent since returning from an oblique strain on May 13: 20 strikeouts against three walks and a 0.86 WHIP across four outings. Detroit counters with Keider Montero (2-3, 3.69 ERA), who has posted a tidy 1.00 WHIP over 61 innings.
The form lines diverge. Seattle is 33-30 and has won eight of its last ten, outscoring opponents by 22 runs in that stretch. Detroit, meanwhile, has gone 5-5 over its last ten with a 4.18 team ERA. The Mariners' bats are hot too, hitting .286 as a team during the run.
The market has been active here. The total opened at 8.5 with even juice and now sits at 9 with the under priced at -125. Seattle's moneyline has also eased from -138 to -132 despite 71% of run line tickets backing the Mariners.

The Pick: Under 9 (-125)
The case for the under rests on the arms. Miller has not allowed much of anything since his season debut, and Montero's 1.00 WHIP suggests traffic on the bases should be limited. The case against is real: the number has already climbed a half run from the opener, Seattle's lineup is the hottest part of this matchup, and -125 is not a cheap ticket. We still side with the two starters at spacious Comerica Park.
Mid-Day Game — Tampa Bay Rays at Miami Marlins
RAYS VS MARLINS TIME & HOW TO WATCH | |
|---|---|
| Where | loanDepot park, Miami, FL |
| When | Saturday, June 6 – 4:10 PM ET |
| TV | Rays.TV, Marlins.TV (MLB.TV out of market) |
On paper, Tampa Bay has a clear pitching edge. Shane McClanahan (6-2, 2.45 ERA) brings a 1.02 WHIP and a 53:19 strikeout-to-walk ratio across 55 innings. The left-hander has allowed one earned run or fewer in six of eleven outings while holding opponents to a .184 average. Miami counters with right-hander Lake Bachar in a far less proven rotation spot.
The standings tell one story, the form lines another. Tampa Bay leads the AL East at 36-23 but has dropped seven of its last ten. Miami sits at 29-34, yet arrives on a three-game winning streak after sweeping Washington.
Then there is the market. This line opened Rays -155 with Miami at +130. It has since collapsed to Rays -130 and Marlins +108 — while 84% of moneyline tickets and 91% of run line tickets sit on Tampa Bay. A line moving hard against an overwhelming public majority is reverse line movement, and it usually means sharper money landed on the other side.

The Pick: Marlins Moneyline (+108)
The case for Miami is the market itself: a 25-cent move toward a home underdog against 84% public money is the sharpest signal on today's board, and it comes with plus money attached. The case against is obvious — McClanahan is arguably the best arm pitching anywhere today, and first-place teams often snap out of funks against losing clubs. We will take the price and the signal, but this is a thin-edge play, not a hammer.
Late Game — Boston Red Sox at New York Yankees
RED SOX VS YANKEES TIME & HOW TO WATCH | |
|---|---|
| Where | Yankee Stadium, Bronx, NY |
| When | Saturday, June 6 – 7:35 PM ET |
| TV | FOX |
This series took a turn before it began. The Yankees placed Aaron Judge on the 10-day injured list Friday with a stress fracture in one of his ribs, recalling Spencer Jones from Triple-A. Judge will be re-evaluated in roughly four to six weeks. Hours later, Boston took the opener 5-3 behind Willson Contreras, who homered and drove in three runs while Sonny Gray earned his fifth straight win.
The pitching matchup favors the home side on season-long numbers. Will Warren (7-1, 3.22 ERA) has been New York's steadiest starter. Boston answers with Ranger Suárez, who is a pedestrian 2-3 through eleven starts with an ERA just under 3.40 — solid run prevention, light win support.
The market reaction has been dramatic. New York opened -135 with Boston at +113. The line has flipped all the way to Red Sox -102 and Yankees -118, even though 86% of run line tickets and 77% of moneyline tickets back New York. Our Saturday MLB predictions preview asked whether Boston can win this series; the sharp side of the market appears to think so.

The Pick: Red Sox Moneyline (-102)
The case for Boston: a Judge-less lineup loses the most dangerous bat in the sport, the Red Sox just proved they can win in this building, and a 37-cent line move against heavy public money is hard to ignore. The case against: Warren has been better than Suárez all year, the Yankees are at home, and Boston no longer offers plus money. The injury news and the market move tip a close call toward the road side.
