Emmanuel Clase was charged with the blown save and loss in the 10th inning Thursday after giving up an infield single and a double. That resulted in two runs, one of which was earned, because of the automatic baserunner. Neither ball was hit hard, and Freddy Fermin’s double barely stayed fair down the left field line. Clase just didn’t have any luck in this one. It’s his sixth blown save, but his first since May 19. He hadn’t allowed a run in his last 13 appearances.

Seiya Suzuki (neck) remains absent from the Cubs’ lineup for Thursday’s game against the Phillies. Suzuki will get another day off to rest and recover after waking up with some neck stiffness on Wednesday. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern at this juncture. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day moving forward. It’ll be Mike Tauchman in right field and leading off on Thursday night in his absence.
