New York scored all five of its runs on three home runs Tuesday night in a 5-4 home victory over Chicago. Neil Walker won it with a pinch-hit walk-off home run in the ninth inning. Aaron Hicks was 1-for-3 with a 2-run homer and a walk. Miguel Andujar had a 2-run home run in four at-bats. Gleyber Torres finished 1-for-2 with a pair of walks. Austin Romine was 1-for-3 with a walk. Dellin Betances picked up the win in relief as he struck out two in a perfect inning of work.
Delmonico drives in two
Yolmer Sanchez finished 2-for-5 with a stolen base, a run and an RBI from the leadoff spot in yesterday’s defeat. Nicky Delmonico was 2-for-5 with a run and two RBIs. Avisail Garcia added a double and an RBI in five at-bats. Dylan Covey took the loss in relief as he gave up one earned run on two hits with two strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings.
Reynaldo Lopez (4-9, 4.66 ERA) will take the hill for the White Sox today, while the Yankees are going with CC Sabathia (7-4, 3.30).
