White Sox vs. Yankees Prediction

After holding the White Sox to one run in a victory yesterday, will the Yankees make it two in a row when they host Chicago today at 1:05PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Yankees are -170 money line favorites over the White Sox, who have odds of +150 to pull off the upset today on the road. With Miguel Gonzalez set to face Masahiro Tanaka in the pitching matchup, the over/under is sitting at 8 runs, down from the opening number of 8.5.

Bet Today’s White Sox vs. Yankees Game

The Yankees are 4-1 in Tanaka’s last five starts coming off four days of rest and have won five of his last seven home starts versus a team with a winning record. They Yankees are also now 5-2 in their last seven games versus the American League Central and 7-2 in their last nine games versus a team with a winning percentage above .600.

As for the Sox, they’re 0-4 in their last four games when their opponent allows two runs or less in its previous game, as the Yankees did on Saturday when they beat Chicago, 2-1. The White Sox are also just 2-6 in their last eight games after scoring two runs or less in their previous contest.

OUR PREDICTION: After losing on Saturday the White Sox have now lost 11 of 14 games against the Yankees and are 17-35 in their last 52 road games versus New York. At -170 the Yankees don’t offer much value on the money line but if you lay the -1.5 on the runline, you’ll get New York at +125. Given how much the pitching matchup is in the Bomers’ favor, they’re worth a play on the runline.

SUNDAY MLB PREDICTION: NEW YORK YANKEES -1.5 (+125)
