ALCS Game 6 Prediction

The New York Yankees hope to avoid elimination when they take on the Texas Rangers in Game 6 of the ALCS.

The Rangers hold a 3-2 lead in the series heading back home for the final two games.

The Yankees will be sending Phil Hughes to the mound to oppose Colby Lewis of Texas in this pivotal game.

Here are some trends to consider and my pick for tonight’s playoff game 6:

New York Yankees vs. Texas Rangers, 8:05PM ET

The Rangers have won five of seven meetings with the Yankees in Texas this season.

Lewis is 1-2 against the Yankees in his career with a 5.90 ERA while Hughes is 2-1 against the Rangers with a 3.44 ERA.

The Rangers are just 1-6 in their last seven games as a home underdog while the Yankees are 5-1 in Hughes’ last six starts with five days of rest.

The Rangers are probably relying on Cliff Lee in Game 7 and may not play with the urgency that the Yankees will in this game. For that reason, I like New York to force a Game 7.
