AL Pennant Odds To Win
The American League Playoffs are set to begin this week and the New York Yankees are still the favorites to win the pennant despite being in the wild card spot.
Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com have given the Yankees 6/5 odds to win the American League pennant while other odds are Tampa Bay at 7/5, Minnesota at 7/2, and Texas at 5/1.
The Yankees earned the AL Wild Card spot at 95-67. They fell short of winning the AL East by 1 game against Tampa Bay. New York will have to open the playoffs at Minnesota. The Yankees are 43-38 on the road this year and 52-29 at home. The Yankees and Twins begin their series on Wednesday night.
The Rays won the AL East this year and have the top spot in the American League playoffs. Tampa Bay is 96-66 on the season and 49-32 at home while going 47-34 on the road. The Rays will begin the playoffs against Texas. Their series begins Wednesday afternoon.
The Twins are 94-68 on the season, winning the AL Central by 6 games over the Chicago White Sox. Minnesota was 53-28 at home this year, best of any team in the American League.
Texas won the AL West by 9 games over Oakland. The Rangers were 51-30 at home and 90-72 overall.
