DALLAS @ EDMONTON | 04/20 | 8:30 PM EDT
EDMONTON -158
ANALYSIS: Not only did Dallas look pretty bad Monday in a loss in Vancouver, but Wednesday is the front end of an extremely tough back-to-back with a trip to Calgary on Thursday. Stars winger Vladislav Namestnikov (28 points, although he hasn't done much since being acquired from Detroit) is out and defenseman Esa Lindell (24 points) is iffy Wednesday. The Oilers are healthy and Mike Smith is working on back-to-back shutouts. In April, the Oilers have allowed the third-fewest goals against in the league. Their PK has allowed only one goal in that span. Edmonton is 10-1 in its past 11 at home.

+2103 74-34-2 IN LAST 110 NHL PICKS

PHILADELPHIA @ COLORADO | 04/20 | 3:10 PM EDT
COLORADO +1.5
ANALYSIS: If the books are going to keep giving me the Rockies +1.5 at home, I'm going to keep taking it, that simple -- wouldn't shock me if they are favored by Thursday morning. It's German Marquez on the mound for Colorado (a reminder that our picks on SL are only active if the starting pitcher we back does actually take the mound), and the Rockies have have gone 13-2 over Marquez’s last 15 starts at Coors Field since May 14, 2021. Colorado is 3-0 all-time at home in Marquez starts vs. the Phils. Runline at -160.

BROOKLYN @ BOSTON | 04/20 | 7:00 PM EDT
BOSTON -3.5
ANALYSIS: The Celtics were fortunate to win Game 1 when Jayson Tatum put in the game-winner at the buzzer. Now, they will face a Nets tandem of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving that will be fully engaged in Game 2. Yet, Boston at home will have the necessary spurts to quell the Nets. Take Boston to cover and take a commanding 2-0 series lead.

+240 9-6 IN LAST 15 NBA PICKS

DALLAS @ EDMONTON | 04/20 | 8:30 PM EDT
DALLAS 140
ANALYSIS: The Oilers have won two straight, scoring eight goals while allowing zero. Edmonton out-shot both foes just 39-38 combined. The Stars should be motivated as they occupy the last wild-card spot in the West, four points ahead of the Las Vegas Golden Knights. Dallas is ranked No. 11 in shots against and No. 2 in face-off win percentage. Dallas 6-2 in its last eight after scoring two goals or less and 5-1 last six following a loss of three goals or more. Edmonton is 2-6 when playing with three or more days of rest this season. Take the road team.

CHI. WHITE SOX @ CLEVELAND | 04/20 | 2:10 PM EDT
CLEVELAND -135
ANALYSIS: Hate to fade my White Sox, but I have zero faith in Dallas Keuchel, and the Pale Hose lineup in Game 1 of the doubleheader looks rather watered-down with the likes of Gavin Sheets, Jake Burger, Adam Engel and Danny Mendick against Guards ace Shane Bieber -- who has owned the White Sox the past few years.

ATLANTA @ L.A. DODGERS | 04/20 | 3:10 PM EDT
L.A. DODGERS -130
ANALYSIS: Charlie Morton pitched well against the Reds but the Reds lineup is bad. The Padres hit him hard and I think the Dodgers should benefit significantly from seeing a righty today. They should also have the advantage by giving all their top bullpen arms the night off yesterday. Tony Gonsolin pitched very well in his first two starts but he hasn’t been pitching deep into games. However, the Dodgers should be ok with that since they were able to rest all their guys yesterday. The Dodgers have the second highest wOBA in the league against righties and they have the 6th best bullpen in the league compared to the Braves being in the bottom third. I like the Dodgers to bounce back and win this series at home.

PHILADELPHIA @ COLORADO | 04/20 | 3:10 PM EDT
COLORADO -105
ANALYSIS: These two teams are trending in complete opposite directions right now. The Phillies have lost 8 of their last 10 games while the Rockies have won 8 of their last 10 games. The Rockies are also 6-3 at home this season and the Phillies are just 1-5 on the road. However, the thing that impresses me the most about the Rockies is their bullpen. They’ve been in the top two all season long and they are currently ranked 5th in the league at a 2.30 ERA despite playing 9 of their 11 games at Coors Field. The Phillies on the other hand, blew another late lead last night and they are ranked third worst in the league in the bullpen. German Marquez pitches well at Coors Field and he has the experience. Zach Eflin struggles on the road, I think the Rockies should be favored today.

TEXAS @ SEATTLE | 04/20 | 9:40 PM EDT
SEATTLE -150
ANALYSIS: Logan Gilbert has pitched very well to start the season and he pitched well in one of his two starts against the Rangers last season. He also has the leagues 4th best bullpen behind him while the Rangers have the league’s worst bullpen. The Rangers hit lefties well but they are ranked 4th worst in the league in wOBA against righties. Dane Dunning has also struggled in his first two starts of the season allowing 5 ER, 2 HRs, and 4 walks in 8.2 IP. He was also 0-7 with a 6.39 ERA on the road last season. Take the Mariners at home.

SAN FRANCISCO @ N.Y. METS | 04/20 | 7:10 PM EDT
SAN FRANCISCO -130
ANALYSIS: Both these starters have absolutely dominated to start the season, but neither starter really pitched against a tough lineup. The Mets struggled against lefties last season but they started a little bit better this season ranked 14th in the league in wOBA against lefties. The Giants on the other hand are one of the worst teams in the league against lefties, but they are much better against righties ranked 9th in the league in wOBA. The Mets used their whole bullpen in two close games yesterday while the Giants were able to save some of theirs. I like the Giants to salvage a game.

TORONTO @ BOSTON | 04/20 | 7:10 PM EDT
TORONTO -135
ANALYSIS: Nick Pivetta allowed 4 ER in 5 IP in his first start then 4 ER in 2 IP in his last start. He has already walked 5 batters and allowed 3 home runs, a recipe for disaster against the Blue Jays. He pitched against the Blue Jays 5 times last season and allowed at least 4 runs in all but one start. Jose Berrios bounced back with a solid performance against the Yankees allowing 3 ER in 5 IP last time out. He faced the Red Sox once last season with the Blue Jays and allowed just 1 ER in 6 IP. The Red Sox struggle against righties ranked just 23rd in the league in wOBA while the Blue Jays are ranked 7th. The Red Sox used all their top bullpen arms in the win yesterday while the Blue Jays were able to save theirs.

TEXAS @ SEATTLE | 04/20 | 9:40 PM EDT
SEATTLE -150
ANALYSIS: Seattle is starting righthanded pitcher Logan Gilbert. Last season, Gilbert made three starts against the Rangers, and in those the Mariners went 2-1. The Rangers are just 2-8 this season, and one of the reasons is that their pitching has struggled. Texas is giving up 6.56 runs per game, the worst of all teams. Last season when the Rangers played in Seattle, the Mariners won eight of 10. I expect them to get another tonight.

TORONTO @ BOSTON | 04/20 | 7:10 PM EDT
TORONTO -120
ANALYSIS: The sky-high ERA for Toronto's Jose Berrios (11.81 ERA) looks bad, but that's largely thanks to a horrific season opener for him where he only recorded one out. Toronto has actually won both of his starts, thanks to some great run support. Boston's Nick Pivetta has been bad both times out. He especially struggled last Friday when he only made it two innings and gave up four earned runs. I like the Blue Jays as small road favorites in this one.

ATLANTA @ L.A. DODGERS | 04/20 | 3:10 PM EDT
L.A. DODGERS -130
ANALYSIS: It took almost a perfect start from Max Fried on Tuesday for Atlanta to win its first regular season game in Los Angeles since 2018. I'm not expecting the Braves to get the same kind of performance on Wednesday from Charlie Morton (1-1, 6.10 ERA), who was shaky last time out. Austin Riley (paternity) is a late scratch for Atlanta, so I'm backing the Dodgers to get back to their winning ways in this one.
