According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, David Rudisha is the favorite to win gold, as he has -110 odds. Other short odds to win are Adam Kszczot (+550) and Alfred Kipketer (+550). The Rio Olympics continue today through Aug. 21 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Rudisha competes for Kenta and he is the defending Olympic champion in the 800. He also won the 2011 and 2015 World Championship in this distance. His top time in this event is 1:40.91, which is a world record.
Kszczot competes for Poland. He competed at the 2012 Olympics but failed to reach the final heat. He has since won the 2014 and 2016 European Championships while placing second in the 2015 World Championship. His top time in the event is 1:43.30.
Kipketer competes for Kenya. He finished second in the 2014 World Junior Championships and is now set to compete in his first Olympic Games. His top time is 1:43.95.
