Eastern Conference Odds

The NBA playoffs are quickly approaching and according to oddsmakers, there isn’t supposed to be much threat to the Cleveland Cavaliers emerging as Eastern Conference Champions.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SBG Global have made LeBron James and the Cavs massive 1/3 favorites to win the Eastern Conference. Cleveland, who owns the NBA’s best record at 66-16, compiled an unbelievable record of 39-2 at home this season. Opponents are going to have a tough beating the Cavs knowing that they’ll have to do so mostly on the road.

The next best odds in the East belong to the Boston Celtics, who are small 5/2 long shots. The Celtics are defending NBA Finals Champions, but oddsmakers don’t give the C’s much of a chance without Kevin Garnett, who might miss the entire postseason due to injury.

The No. 3 seed in the East belongs to the Orlando Magic, who might be a decent value pick. The Magic didn’t have a great April, but they certainly have the ability to make some noise if they get hot.

The Philadelphia 76ers is another team that could get hot and make a run and at 70/1, they could be a tremendous value. The Miami Heat also fit into the “value” category at 40/1, especially considering they have an MVP-caliber star in Dwyane Wade.
