Offseason Additions:
The Nets made headlines this offseason when they traded Richard Jefferson to the Milwaukee Bucks for Yi Jianlian and Bobby Simmons. This team might be gearing up to sign LeBron James or other star free agents next summer.
2008-2009 Season Outlook:
The fact of the matter is that this team is probably a year away from making a true run at the Finals, or even the playoffs. What the Nets are essentially trying to do is build a core with Jianlian, and Devin Harris that will hopefully attract players like King James next year.
Still, the Nets still have Vince Carter, who isn’t playing at the top of his game anymore but he’s still a playmaker. And Harris has tremendous potential and could develop into a great young point guard.
