The over/under total opened at 41.5 points and hit a low of 41 before climbing up to 42.
Carolina is off to a 2-0 start, largely thanks to its defense, which has allowed just 21 points in two games. The offense hasn’t been bad either, but averaging just over 300 yards per game right now. Cam Newton missed the first game, but threw for 281 yards last week against the Lions. Tight end Greg Olsen is leading the offense with 14 catches for 155 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, Dwan Edwards has 2.5 sacks, as does Mario Addison.
Pittsburgh is coming off a 26-6 loss last week to Baltimore. The Steelers have now been outscored 50-9 over their last six quarters of play. Pittsburgh was held to 301 yards of offense in the loss to Baltimore and had three turnovers in the process. Ben Roethlisberger was 22 of 37 passing for 217 yards in the loss while Le’Veon Bell was held to 59 rushing yards.
In terms of Injuries, Carolina receivers Jerricho Cotchery and Jason Avant are both questionable with thigh injuries. Pittsburgh guard Ramon Foster (ankle) and nose tackle Steve McLendon (shoulder) are also questionable.
