Redskins vs. Eagles Odds
PHILADELPHIA, PA (The Spread) – Two NFC East rivals meet up on Sunday at 1PM ET when the Philadelphia Eagles host the Washington Redskins on FOX.
Philadelphia is 2-0 on the season, 1-0 at home, 2-0 against the spread and the Eagles have went over the point total in both games. Washington is 1-1 overall, 0-1 on the road, 1-1 against the spread and has split the over/under total in two games. The Eagles have won five of their last seven against the Redskins.
Trends show that the favorite has covered the spread in six of the last seven in this series, but the road team is 10-4-1 ATS in the last 15. These two have went 5-2-1 on the under in their last eight meetings in Philadelphia.
According to oddsmakers from BetDSI, Philadelphia is the clear favorite at home, as the Eagles have odds of -6.5 points against the Redskins. The over/under total for the game has been set at 50 points (View Matchup). The opening odds for this game had Philadelphia favored by 7 points and the spread then dipped to 6.5. The over/under total opened at 51 points before quickly dropping to 50.
The Eagles defeated the Colts 30-27 on Monday Night Football, overcoming a 14-point deficit for the second straight week to get to 2-0. The Eagles have started slow and finished strong, currently averaging 439 yards per game, with 303 coming through the air and 136 on the ground. Nick Foles has had some turnover issues, but he is 82 of 48 passing for 653 yards and three touchdowns while LeSean McCoy has rushed for 153 yards and one score. Darren Sproles has added a big boost on offense, as he has rushed for 97 yards and two scores while catching 11 passes for 166 yards.
Washington got its first win of the season last Sunday, but it came at a price. The Skins defeated Jacksonville 41-10, but lost quarterback Robert Griffin III to a dislocated ankle. He is out indefinitely. Receiver DeSean Jackson injured his shoulder in the game as well and is questionable to play this week. Kirk Cousins will start at QB for Washington this Sunday. He was 22 of 33 passing for 250 yards and two touchdowns in the win over Jacksonville. Niles Paul caught eight passes for 99 yards and one touchdown in the win as well. Washington racked up 10 sacks against the Jaguars, with Ryan Kerrigan leading the way with four.
In terms of Injuries, Philadelphia tackle Matt Tobin (ankle) is out while receiver Josh Huff (shoulder) is questionable. Washington cornerback Tracy Porter (hamstring) and tight end Jordan Reed (hamstring) are both questionable.
The Public Bets for this game are currently backing the Eagles, as Philadelphia is getting 56% of the wagers with odds of -6.5 points against the Redskins on Sunday.
