According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Tulsa is the favorite to win this year’s championship, as the Golden Hurricanes have odds of +270 to win. Other short odds to win are Marshall (+375), East Carolina (+375) and Rice (+650).
Tulsa is the defending conference champion, and the Golden Hurricanes have won the title two times in program history. Tulsa went 11-3 last season and return 12 starters this year.
Marshall has never won this conference title and never appeared in the championship game. The Thundering Herd were just 5-7 last season, but returns 17 starters this year.
East Carolina has won this title twice, with the last title coming in 2009. The Pirates are coming off an 8-5 season in 2012, but return 20 starters for the 2013 season.
Rice has never won this conference championship and never played in the title game. The Owls were 7-6 a year ago, but return 20 starters from that team.
