(TheSpread) – The 2012 March Madness tournament field has been set. Here is a look at the odds to win this year’s field of 68 teams.

The NCAA Tournament begins on Tuesday with the start of the First Four, a set of four games that will take the field to 64 teams. From there, the standard 64-team tournament will take place, lasting over three weekends.

According to oddsmakers, Kentucky is the favorite to win this year’s national championship, as they have 8/5 odds to win. Other short odds to win are North Carolina (5/1), Syracuse (7/1), and Michigan State (7/1).

The Wildcats are the top overall seed and No. 1 seed in the South Regional. Kentucky went 32-2 this season and won the SEC regular season championship. Kentucky has won the NCAA Tournament seven times in program history.

Syracuse is the top seed in the East Regional. The Orange are 31-2 on the season after winning the Big East regular season title. Syracuse has won March Madness one time, back in 2003.

North Carolina is the No. 1 seed in the Midwest Regional. The Tar Heels were 29-4 overall this season and won the ACC regular season title. The Tar Heels have won this tournament five times, with the last title coming in 2009.

Michigan State is the No. 1 seed in the West Regional. The Spartans were 27-7 this season and they won a share of the Big Ten regular season title while winning the Big Ten Tournament. The Spartans have won March Madness twice in program history, the last coming in 2000.
