ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (TheSpread) – The 2012 Atlantic 10 Men’s Basketball Tournament gets underway tonight. Here is a look at the odds to win this tournament.

This 12 team tournament competes over four rounds from campus sites starting tonight and then the final eight teams will play at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City starting on Friday. The top four teams in the tournament have first round byes and will face a winner from tonight’s set of games.

According to oddsmakers, Saint Louis is the favorite to win with 8/5 odds. Other short odds to win are Temple (2/1) and Xavier (13/2).

Saint Louis is the No. 2 seed in this week’s tournament. Saint Louis is 24-6 on the season and 12-4 in A-10 play. Saint Louis has never won this tournament or even played in the championship game.

Temple is the top seed in the tournament. The Owls are 24-6 overall and they finished 13-3 in conference play to win the regular season title. Temple has won this tournament nine times, most of any team in the conference. The Owls last title came in 2010.

Xavier owns the No. 3 seed in this tournament. The Musketeers were 19-11 overall this season and 10-6 in conference play. Xavier has won this tournament four times, the last of which came in 2006.
