NEW YORK (AP) – Better late than never in the Bronx, apparently.
The Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees started their game Tuesday night at 11:08 p.m. after a rain delay of 4 hours, 3 minutes.
About 1,000 fans were in the stands at Yankee Stadium when the AL East leaders took the field. A light mist was falling, whipped at an angle by a gusting wind.
It was already shaping up as a tough week for the teams. They are scheduled to play again Wednesday at 1:05 p.m. in New York, then meet in Baltimore on Thursday at 1:05 p.m. for the makeup of a previous rainout.
