CONCORD, NC (TheSpread) – Carl Edwards and Jimmie Johnson are among the favorites to win the 2011 Coca-Cola 600, but which driver will outdo the other on Sunday night?
According to oddsmakers at online sports book Bodog.com Edwards is the clear favorite to win the matchup with odds of -180 while Johnson has a money line of +140.
Edwards will start third on Sunday night while Johnson qualified sixth. These two are 1 & 2 in the point standings as Edwards leads Johnson by 24 points. Edwards has one win and six top 5’s on the year while Johnson has one victory with four top 5’s.
At Charlotte Motor Speedway, Edwards is winless with four top 5’s and seven top 10’s in his career. He did win the Sprint All-Star race last week, but that was an exhibition. Edwards has an average finish of 13.1 at this track while his driver rating is 84.3. For Johnson, he has six wins at Charlotte Motor Speedway with 10 top 5’s and 14 top 10’s. His average finish at the track is 9.8 and his driver rating is 114.7, which is tops of any driver in the series.
