In what was thought to be the toughest regional of all in the 2010 NCAA Tournament, Michigan State was the unlikely winner and advanced to the Final Four.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL, Michigan State had 10/1 odds to reach the Final Four meaning at $100 bet on Michigan State will pay out an additional $1,000.
The Spartans will be making their sixth Final Four appearance since 1999 and second in two years. Michigan State was the No. 5 seed of the region and opened with a 70-67 win over No. 12 New Mexico State and followed with an 85-83 win over No. 4 Maryland thanks to a 3-pointer at the buzzer from Korie Lucious. The Spartans then defeated No. 9 Northern Iowa 59-52 in the regional semifinal.
The regional championship was a 70-69 win over No. 6 Tennessee. The Volunteers hot 51 percent in the loss, but Michigan State still found a way to win. The Spartans were without top play Kalin Lucas, but Durrell Summers stepped up in his absence, scoring 21 points and pulling down four rebounds. Raymar Morgan had 13 points and 10 rebounds as well for MSU while Draymond Green had 13 points.
