It wasn’t expected by many, but the Butler Bulldogs are heading to the 2010 Final Four as champions of the West Regional.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com, Butler 10/1 odds to reach the Final Four meaning at $100 bet on Butler will pay out an additional $1,000.
The Bulldogs entered the tournament as the No. 5 seed in the West. Butler opened the tournament with a 77-59 win over No. 12 UTEP and followed up with a 54-52 win over No. 13 Murray State. The Bulldogs then had their biggest win on the road to the Final Four, beating No 1 Syracuse 63-59 in the regional semifinal.
The regional championship was a 63-56 win over No. 2 Kansas State. A 27-20 first half for the Bulldogs led to the win. Butler out-rebounds the Wildcats 36-27 in the game and also held Kansas State to 38 percent shooting. Gordon Hayward had 22 points and nine rebounds to lead Butler to the win.
