Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com have made Vanderbilt a 3-point favorite over Murray State on Thursday afternoon. The over/under has been set at 141.

Vanderbilt is making its 11th tournament appearance and third showing in four years. The Commodores havenโ€™t won a tournament game since 2007, but come in to this tournament with a 24-8 overall record and a 12-4 mark in the SEC. The Commodores have lost two of their last three coming into the tournament. Vanderbilt averages 77.3 points per-game on offense, ranking 29th in the country, while giving up 69 points a game, which ranks 167th. Vandy has four players that score in double figures, with Jermaine Beal leading the way at 14.7 points per-game. A.J. Ogilvy and Jeffery Taylor each post 13.4 points per-game while Ogilvy also pulls down 6.2 rebounds.

Murray
State
is making its 14th NCAA Tournament appearance, with the last coming in 2006. The Racers have one NCAA tournament win in school history, which came in 1988.

Murray
State
is 30-4 this season and the Racers were 17-1 in the Ohio Valley Conference.

Murray
State
averages 77.5 points per-game, which ranks 28th in the nation. The Racers give up 60.5 points per-game, which puts them 19th in the country.

Murray
State
has a lot of balance as five players average just over 10 points per-game. Ivan Aska averages 10.6 points to lead the way, but also pulls down 4.9 rebounds while shooting 59.2 percent from the floor.

The oddsmakers know something that the bracket makers donโ€™t in this one. It is pretty clear

Murray
State
is no joke and they have a history of playing close to top seeded opponents, including an overtime loss to a No. 1 seeded Michigan State team in 1990. The Racers have 30 wins this season and tremendous balance, while the Commodores finished the season in mediocre fashion in a conference that is questionable in its overall talent level. Look for the Racers to cover and perhaps even win this game.

Our NCAA Tournament Free Pick for this matchup is: MURRAY STATE +3 and UNDER 141
