Villanova Tourny Odds
Villanova made its first Final Four in 24 years last season, but the Wildcats are looking to make their first back-to-back appearance this season.
The Wildcats have made five-straight tournament appearances coming into this season under coach Jay Wright. The Wildcats have won at least two tournament games in four of the last five seasons. This season Villanova is 24-7 overall and 13-5 in the Big East. The Wildcats are currently ranked 10th in the nation.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL have given Villanova 10/1 odds to win the NCAA Tournament and senior guard Scottie Reynolds has been given 6/1 odds to win the 2010 John Wooden Award.
After winning 20 of their first 21 games, Villanova has struggled to end the season, losing six of their last 10 games, including an 80-76 loss to Marquette in the quarterfinals of the Big East Tournament. Villanova has defeated three ranked opponents this season while losing to four.
The Wildcats lead the Big East in scoring at 82.5 points per-game but Villanova allows 72.9 points per-game, which ranks 14th in the conference. The Wildcats lead the conference in free throw percentage at 75.1 but a weak spot for the Wildcats has been assist-to-turnover ratio, as they rank 13th in the Big East at 1.0.
Reynolds leads the Wildcats, averaging 18.5 points, 3.3 assists, and 1.5 steals per-game. Reynolds shoots 47.8 percent from the field, 39.9 percent from 3-point land, and 82.7 from the free throw line. Corey Fisher averages 13.7 points and 4 assists per-game while forward Antonio Pena averages 10.9 points and 7.4 rebounds per-game for Nova.
