Once the most disgruntled program in college basketball, Baylor has quickly turned things around and working toward winning a championship.

The death of Patrick Dennehy and coach Dave Bliss’ attempt to soil his reputation brought Baylor down to its lowest point in 2003. Bliss was quickly removed as coach as the program tried to move on under Scott Drew. Following a struggle in his first three seasons, Drew has slowly built Baylor into a winning program, highlighted by this season’s 24-6 record.

Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com have given Baylor 75/1 odds to win the NCAA Tournament while also giving them 5/1 odds to win the Big 12 Tournament.

Baylor is currently ranked 21st in the nation and 11-5 in the Big 12. The Bears have two wins over ranked opponents, but have struggled to defeat top-level teams like
Kansas and

Kansas
State
. The Bears won seven of their last eight to end the regular season.

Baylor ranks fifth in the Big 12 in scoring, averaging 77.4 points per-game. On defense, the Bars rank third, allowing just 65.3 points per-game. Baylor is second in the conference in field goal percentage, currently shooting .486 while holding opponents to .382. Baylor is strong on the glass, leading the Big 12 in rebounding margin at +7.4. The Bears are also tops in blocked shot at 7.2 per-game. One area the Bears have struggled is with turnover margin, where they rank last in the Big 12 at -1.63.

The Bears have been led this season by guard LaceDarius Dunn. He scored 19.2 points per-game while pulling down 4.7 rebounds. Tweety Carter is averaging 15.8 points while Ekpe Udoh is scoring 13.4 points per-game while pulling down 9.8 rebounds and 4.1 blocks per-game.
