Always one of the most competitive conference tournaments each year, the 2010 ACC Tournament gets started on Thursday.

The 12-team tournament takes place from the Greensboro Coliseum in

Greensboro,
N.C. with opening round games starting Thursday. Four games will take place and the winners meet the top four seeds that have already advanced to the quarterfinals. The championship takes place on Sunday.

The defending tournament champion, Duke, is favored to win again this year.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL have given Duke 4/5 odds to win. Other short odds to win are

Maryland (5/2), Florida State (13/2), and Virginia Tech (8/1).

The Blue Devils have won 17 ACC Tournaments in program history. The Blue Devils are 26-5 overall and ranked fourth in the nation. Duke went 13-3 in the ACC to earn the No. 1 seed in the tournament. Duke has beaten five ranked opponents and its ACC losses came against Georgia Tech,
N.C.
State, and

Maryland.

The Terrapins have won three ACC Tournaments, the last coming in 2004.

Maryland is 23-7 overall and ranked 19^th while finishing 13-3 in the ACC to earn the No. 2 seed.

Maryland has won its last seven games and has conference losses to Duke, Clemson, and Wake Forest.

Florida
State has never won the ACC Tournament. The Seminoles are 22-8 overall and 10-6 in the ACC. They will be the No. 3 seed in the tournament. FSU has lost two games to Clemson and
Maryland while also losing to Duke and

N.C.
State.

Virginia Tech has never won the ACC Tournament. The Hokies are 23-7 overall and 10-6 in the ACC, earning the No. 4 seed. Va-Tech won its last two games of the season, which ended a three-game losing streak to Duke,
Boston
College, and

Maryland. The Hokies also lost to
North Carolina,
Florida
State, and

Miami.
