The 2010 Western Athletic Conference Tournament begins play on Thursday from the Lawlor Events Center in

and the odds are out on which team will win.

The 8-team tournament hosts its quarterfinals on Thursday and will conclude on Saturday with the championship game.

The defending tournament champion,

Utah
State
, is favored to win again this year.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL have given Utah State 1/1 odds to win. Other short odds to win are

(5/4), New Mexico State (5/1), and Louisiana Tech (8/1).


Utah
State
is the No. 1 seed in the tournament after going 14-2 in conference play and 25-6 overall. The Aggies have won just one tournament in program history.
Utah
State has won 15-straight games after losing back-to-back contests to

New Mexico

and Louisiana Tech.


Nevada
has won two WAC Tournaments with the last coming in 2006. The Wolf Pack are 19-11 this season and 11-5 in conference play, earning the No. 2 seed.

New Mexico
State
won the 2007 conference tournament and is 19-11 on the season and 11-5 in conference. The Aggies will be the No. 3 seed this week. The Aggies have lost their last two games.

Louisiana Tech has not won a WAC Tournament title as of yet. The Bulldogs are 22-9 overall and 9-7 in the WAC. They will be the No. 4 seed in the tournament. Tech has lost four of its last six games and not won back-to-back contests since rattling off 10-straight on Jan. 14.
