One of the most competitive conference tournaments year in and year out has come from the Summit League and the odds are out for their 2010 conference tournament.

The 2010 Summit League Tournament begins Saturday and will take place from the Sioux Falls Arena in

Sioux Falls,
South Dakota featuring the top eight teams in the conference.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL have made

Oakland a 9/5 favorite to win the Summit League Tournament. Other short odds to win are IUPUI (9/4), Oral Roberts (9/4), and South Dakota State (5/1).

Oakland has won one Summit League Tournament title, which came in 2005. The Grizzlies were 23-8 this season and have a 17-1 conference record, which gives it the No. 1 seed.

Oakland’s lone conference loss came against IUPUI, 78-54 on Jan. 28.

IUPUI won its lone tournament title in 2003. The Jaguars are 22-9 this season and 15-3 in Summit League play, having lost to IPFW, Oral Roberts, and

Oakland. They will be the No. 2 seed in the tournament.

Oral Roberts has won three Summit League Tournament titles, winning in 2006, 2007, and 2008. The Golden Eagles are 19-12 this season and 13-5 in conference play. After losing back-to-back games to
Oakland and
Western Illinois, Oral Roberts has won five straight to end the regular season and earn the No. 3 seed.

South Dakota
State has not won the Summit League tournament. This year, the Jackrabbits are 14-15 on the season and 10-8 in league play.

South Dakota
State is the No. 4 seed in the tournament and will have the home-court edge, but the Jackrabbits have lost four of their last five games.
