Lytle vs. Ebersole Free Pick
Lytle enters the fight as the favorite according to oddsmakers from online sportsbook Sportsbook.com with betting odds of -250 while Ebersole comes in with odds of +190. UFC 127 takes place from Acer Arena and will air live on Pay-Per-View at 10PM ET.
WHY PICK LYTLE
Lytle (30-17-5) is a veteran of the UFC and now fighting at the top of his game with four-straight victories in the octagon. He is a scrapper, with a boxing background, but he also works in kicks and solid grappling. Lytle is a guy that is always pressing forward and not letting his opponent get a moment to relax. Lytle has never been knocked out or submitted in his career. His two stoppage losses were due to cuts. He also was originally scheduled to face Carlos Condit on Saturday, but Condit had to pull out of the fight due to injury, so he is getting an opponent that is fighting on short notice.
WHY PICK EBERSOLE
Ebersole (46-14-1) is making his UFC debut, but he has a number of fights to his credit. He is currently riding a seven-fight win streak but the quality of opponents has not been that strong. Ebersole has the advantage of being somewhat of an unknown to his opponent as he took this fight on a few weeks notice and he also appears to be a well-rounded fighter. Ebersole will have to get over his UFC debut jitters, which has been known to affect fighters.
WHO TO PICK?
This should be an entertaining fight, but Lytle should be too tough for Ebersole. Lytle won’t be knocked out and he won’t be submitted, so Ebersole’s only chance is to get Lytle to the ground, but I don’t see Ebersole being able to control Lylte there either. Look for Lytle to mix in strikes and tire Ebersole before working in a submission in the third round.
